PPI to present 'power for greener lab' course

Raymond L Hecker of PPI will present a short course entitled 'Understanding Electrical Power for Greener Laboratory Operation and Results' at Pittcon 2010

The course will be presented on 4 March, 2010 from 1 to 5pm.

This seminar is designed to help attendees increase their understanding of the cost impacts associated with using unconditioned electrical utility power for laboratory operations.

The seminar identifies the electrical utility power-generation and distribution problems that confront the laboratory industry, as well as the impact of key regulators.

Actionable solutions and recommendations will be presented to provide cost-saving improvements for the laboratory, while complying with key industry regulations.

Course outline and objectives: identify the 12 most common electrical problems affecting the laboratory; describe four main technologies available to arrest/correct/regenerate electrical power; discuss regulatory compliance for 21 CFR Part 11, including DOE and EPRI improvements and recommendations; identify economically sound power-mitigation and monitoring solutions with recommendations for laboratory operations; recommend key action steps for protecting and monitoring the laboratory's equipment and processes.
