On September 25th - Dr Margit Gieseler of GILYOS GmbH will present a webinar entitled entitled ’Measurement of the Specific Surface Area (SSA) of lyophilised Products’.

This presentation discusses how the inner cake morphology of freeze-dried products can act as an indicator for the applied process conditions such as freezing rate or shelf temperature / pressure settings during the drying phases. 

As pore size of the freeze dried cake is directly correlated to surface area, measurement of the latter provides a quantitative insight into the product‘s performance under various conditions.
