G1888 network headspace sampler

Headspace sampling is an attractive sample introduction method because it does not require sample preparation, an often time-consuming and difficult process

Agilent Technologies has introduced a network headspace samplerthat features an inert sample pathway and significantimprovements in sensitivity, performance and productivity.Agilent's newest sample introduction system integratesseamlessly with Agilent's gas chromatographs (GCs) andChemStation software to provide a fully integrated GC system, from sampling to data analysis.

Headspace sampling is anattractive sample introduction method because it does not requiresample preparation, an often time-consuming and difficultprocess.

This method allows researchers to introduce volatilecompounds from any sample matrix directly into a GC or gaschromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) system.

The AgilentG1888 network headspace sampler is designed for a wide range ofanalyses in the chemical, environmental, food safety, forensics, and food and flavours industries.

Its deactivated sample pathway, from sampling needle to transfer line, greatly reduces analytedegradation or loss to enable accurate, reliable analyses ofproblematic compounds such as pesticides and drugs.

With anincreased temperature range, it can handle analysis ofsemivolatiles at temperatures up to 230C.

The sampler's newmulti-headspace-extraction concentration mode, in conjunctionwith cryo-focusing, significantly improves system sensitivity. The Agilent G1888 headspace sampler provides several features toincrease user productivity: 70-sample tray for unattendedovernight operation, power-on self-test and automatic leaktesting, easy switching between manual pressure/flow mode andelectronic pneumatics control, and first available screw-capvial, ideal for field sampling.

With optional software, the G1888headspace sampler can be completely controlled by Agilent'sGC ChemStation.

Control is integrated with drop-down menus foreasy method setup.

An event log tracks every headspace sampleroperation and reports any temperature or pressure deviationcompared to the set point.

The software integration increasesautomation and enables straightforward compliance with FDA 21 CFRPart 11.

Agilent is now accepting orders for the G1888 networkheadspace sampler.
