These extremely sensitive reagents increase assay signal up to ten-fold over known chemiluminescent substrates
Flowgen has just launched a new family of Bold chemiluminescentreagents for alkaline phosphatase (AP) detection.
These extremelysensitive reagents increase assay signal up to ten-fold overknown chemiluminescent substrates.
Chemiluminescence is typicallyabout two orders of magnitude more sensitive than fluorescenceand more than four orders of magnitude more sensitive thanchromogenic reactions.
This allows for lower detection limits instandard assays such as Elisa or on blots.
In turn, this makes itpossible to study processes and detect analytes previously notavailable by other detection technologies.
Low background levelsare also observed, generating very high signal to noise ratios.Signal intensity is up to ten times brighter than othercommercial regents.
These characteristics make Bold substratesparticularly amenable to high throughput screening andminiaturisation where increased density of samples requiresdecreased assay volumes.
In addition, those new tochemiluminescence can forget any concerns about which substrate, enhancer and blocker to use.
The new reagents come insingle-bottle, ready-to-use solutions that contain all theingredients necessary for detection.
Two substrate formulationsare available for solution-based detection in microplates orcuvettes.
Bold APS 540 has an emission maximum of 540nm, whileBold APS 450 has an emission maximum of 450nm.
