Fat and moisture analyser - described as "a truly revolutionary breakthrough" - is now an approved methodology by AOAC International
Cem, a provider of microwave laboratory instrumentation, saysthat the SmartTrac fat and moisture analyser is now an approvedmethodology by AOAC International.
"SmartTrac is a trulyrevolutionary breakthrough in fat analysis and we are pleasedthat the AOAC has now incorporated the system into its officialmethodologies" said David Lofty, managing director of CemMicrowave Technology.
The SmartTrac system partners highperformance NMR technology with the reliable drying capabilityand versatile analytical software of the Smart System 5 to createa fat and moisture analyser designed to yield fast, accurateresults without solvents or calibration.
The system can determineboth free and chemically bound fat, which previously could onlybe measured using labour intensive conventional methods.
Unlikeindirect methods, changes in the texture, colour or uniformity ofthe sample do not affect the accuracy of the SmartTrac system.Intuitive system software manages the analysis and can store upto 100 methods and 300 results.
SmartTrac can perform an accuratetest in minutes without the use of solvents or frequentcalibration.
Its speed, accuracy and versatility enables manycompanies to save a significant amount of money each year byimproving their quality control.
