The Itoc-CRDS, developed jointly by Picarro and OI Analytical, has won the Editors' Choice Silver Prize at the 2009 Pittcon conference.
The Itoc-CRDS is a compact turnkey system that measures total organic carbon (TOC) and the carbon stable isotope ratio for the TOC component.
Primary applications are fast screening of foods, beverages and other agricultural products for source-appellation and/or signs of illicit adulteration/dilution/additives.
The Itoc-CRDS is also suitable for researching carbon cycles and various forensic applications.
The system is built around Picarro's WS-CRDS (wavelength scanned cavity ring down spectroscopy) analyser technology, which is integrated with OI Analytical's TOC combustion/oxidation front-end.
