Gizmo Engineering has introduced a no-clean, bench-top mixer for viscous fluids that is said to be suitable for research laboratories, quality assurance laboratories, production plants and more.
The mixer is used for epoxies, polyester resins, paints, slurries, pastes, and solder mask.
It rotates a cup holder that holds a disposable plastic cup filled with liquid to be mixed.
A disposable tongue depressor held stationary by a clip provides the stirring.
The speed is adjustable from 0-90rev/min - therefore liquids of any viscosity up to 50,000cp can be mixed.
After users are finished, they can simply throw the sticky cup and stick away.
Gizmo said the mixer pays for itself by encouraging the mixing of small batches of material.
Machine mixing ensures the variation inherent in hand mixing is eliminated and does not introduce air bubbles into the mixture.
The machine has a 5 x 4in footprint on the bench top, and it can be powered by AC adapter (included) or 9V battery for field use.
When powered from a lithium battery, expected life is 50 hours.
Different cup sizes up to 250ml (9oz) are available.
