Thermo Fisher Scientific, has launched the handheld Niton XL2 precious metal analyser, which is claimed to be simple to use yet offer lab-quality analysis, providing exact metal content in seconds.
The Niton XL2 provides a rapid, single-step process for on-the-spot sorting and valuation of all precious metals, as well as quantification of other desirable and undesirable elements.
In addition, the test is nondestructive, meaning no material is lost or damaged in the testing process.
Offered in a value package, the instrument comes standard with a mobile test stand, battery and battery charger, PC connection cables, locking carrying case and belt holster.
Niton XL2 series and Niton XL3t series XRF analysers are engineered for taking measurements anywhere and providing results quickly, saving significant time and expense compared to traditional laboratory testing.
These nondestructive instruments provide integrated storage of all test results in a completely tamperproof data format.
The instruments also incorporate multiple communication options, including Bluetooth wireless and USB communications.
Both analysers also come standard with Thermo Scientific Niton Data Transfer (NDT) software, a suite of data management utilities that allows users to set operator permissions, print certificates of analysis to document results, export data into standard formats (.csv or MS Excel), or operate the analyser remotely from a PC.
The NDT file format preserves and protects the original data from each sample analysis, ensuring that data is not unintentionally or intentionally compromised.
