PCI upgrade for popular ISA data acquisition board
PCI215 bus Data Acquisition Board
Amplicon Liveline has designed and manufactured the new PCI215 bus Data Acquisition Board, featuring 48 channels of digital I/O, six 16 bit, 10MHz counter timers, and the latest PLX 9052 bridge chip
Amplicon Liveline has designed and manufactured the new PCI215bus Data Acquisition Board, featuring 48 channels of digital I/Oand six 16 bit, 10MHz counter timers, in addition to the latestPLX 9052 bridge chip to maximise the price/performance ratio. This new board is an upgrade of the popular ISA bus PC214E andC215E boards and is fully backward compatible, with identicalconnection cables and terminations.
End users are also able touse programs developed on ISA bus and recompile them for use withthis new PCI bus version.
The high performance, easy-to-usedevice has the added advantage of being low cost.
It is suppliedwith compatible drivers for Windows 95/98 and NT/2000, andsoftware examples are available in Agilent VEE Pro, Visual Basicand Delphi.
The PCI215 features two programmable peripheralinterface (PPI) chips, and two counter timers.
Every timingoperation is under the control of an on-board 10MHz crystal clocksource.
Operating from a 5V supply from the host PC bus, thedevice runs at 220mA or up to 300mA if all 48DIO channels areloaded.
The Amplicon library used helps to increase control overthe PPI and counter timers, as it has 8 DIO specific functionsand 44 counter/timer functions, in addition to 29 genericfunctions used to set up the board and collect information aboutthe PC.
Primarily used for up and down counting purposes, the DIOcan also be used to trigger start and stop counting or even forbatch counting.
This is particularly useful for signallingsystems, in research and development, education, with systemintegrators, general manufacturing, manufacturers of electronicinstruments, and for defence and aerospace, and intelecommunications applications.
The device is part of thewell-established 200 series of data acquisition and serialcommunications boards on offer from Amplicon, which include thecomplete range of PCI bus boards for DIO, counter timers, relayoutput, analogue input/output and multifunction boards.
ThePCI215 has been tested for full compliance with EMC directivesand is CE marked.
Full pre and post sales technical support isavailable free of charge from the company, should the end-userrun into any difficulties.
The Infiniivision X-Series of oscilloscopes offers Megazoom custom ASIC technology, which enables real-time viewing of waveforms in their truest analogue form.
Amplicon has launched its test and measurement web shop, intended as a fast, secure way of providing customers with a range of instruments from companies such as Fluke and Agilent Technologies.
Amplicon Liveline is now able to offer a complete family of PCI bus data acquisition boards, backwards compatible with popular ISA bus versions from entry level through to higher performance designs
Amplicon Liveline is opening up Linux to end-users for acquisition and analysis tasks by offering drivers from both Microstar Laboratories and United Electronic Industries products
Amplicon Liveline has recently released its new PCI236, 24 channel Digital I/O board for PCI bus, an update to the PC36AT product, priced at the extremely low cost of £99
