Metrohm offers oven sample processor for titration

874 USB oven sample processor
Metrohm is offering the 874 USB oven sample processor for automatic thermal sample preparation for Karl Fischer titration.
When working with difficult samples, such as plastics, salts or other compounds that release their water slowly or require elevated temperatures to do so, laboratories can use the oven sample processor.
Its sample rack can be adjusted to accommodate users' own sample vessels and it can be combined with a range of titrators for volumetric and coulometric water determination.
Users place hermetically sealed sample vials on the rack; these vials are heated in the oven to release the water and then a double-hollow needle pierces the septum and a stream of carrier gas transports the moisture to the titration cell for subsequent analysis.
Since the sample never enters the titration cell, side reactions with the KDF reagent used are completely avoided.
For samples of unknown origin, the 874 oven sample processor can record the heating curves to help determine the optimum temperature required for analysis.
