The European Microscopy Society has designated an EMS Extension to Microscience 2010, meaning it will receive more support and host the European Society's general assembly.
Microscience 2010 has three parallel themes - Life, Materials and New Frontiers - that include a rich mix of high-profile invited and submitted talks.
In addition, each day starts with a tone-setting plenary lecture, with the first being given by Prof Jennifer Lippincott-Schwartz.
The exhibition is home to nearly 100 companies and is set to be the largest in the event's history.
It is free to visitors and includes an attractive programme of technical workshops and the learning zone: a turn-up-and-learn facility staffed by experts.
